Eun-Hye Choi was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. She came to the United States in 1988 after earning a B.A. from Ehwa Womans University and then the master's degree in political science from Sogang University. Eun-Hye came to the U.S. to continue her studies but also to join her family and relatives, most of whom were already living in the U.S. Eun-Hye went on to earn another master's degree in Christian Education and a Master of Divinity, both from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. Later, Eun-Hye moved west to southern California and entered into studies at Claremont School of Theology. From 1998 to 2001, Eun-Hye served as associate pastor at First UMC of Palatine and as pastor of First UMC of Dundee from 2001 to 2006. In early 2004 Eun-Hye finished writing her D.Min. dissertation on faith formation in Asian communities and received her D.Min. in May 2004 from Claremont. In the midst of all her studying, Eun-Hye became an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, met Chris and married him. Eun-Hye currently serves as the lead pastor of Plainfield United Methodist Church.

Chris Walters was born in southern California, and grew up in northwest suburban Chicago. Chris attended Columbia College Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree in fiction writing. Chris then attended at Elmhurst College where he became certified to teach English, social studies, and music. Chris taught 7th grade English part-time and eventually returned to the passion of his adolescence: computer programming. From 1997 to the 2011, Chris worked as an applications developer, IT Director with MacKay & Company, and as owner of Encourage IT LLC. Chris has many diverse interests, including listening to and composing music. Along the way, Chris pursued another deep interest: religious studies. Chris earned the M.A. from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, having written a thesis titled "Theology and Technology: Humanity in Process," and he graduated the M.Div. program in 2011 at Chicago Theological Seminary. Chris currently serves as the associate pastor of Plainfield United Methodist Church.
